Sad news for those of us that love the N/A 6.3 motor which !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is being phased out in favor of a 4.0 Twin-Turbo unit for the next C63 AMG, also rumored is the 4.0T will be replacing the 5.5T across the lineup. Potential output for the new motor should be around 454-493 hp and have enough torque to match. The next showdown between the M3 and the C63 just got more interesting...

I really hope that the ATS-V uses a N/A LT? V8. Just from a sound perspective alone.

Me too, but I have a feeling they are going to drop the TT V6 from the CTS V-sport and crank it up a bit.

They need to stop calling it [model designation]63.
Also I'm okay with a 4.0T. I like Ts up here in the High Country

Yeah, but the Alpha Platform is designed specifically for an SBC because Camaro.

True...but since every other hot-rod sport sedan in the class is going Turbo I think Caddy will want to keep up with the Jonses.

The 4.0T replacing the 5.5T? That doesn't sound like any fun :(

indeed :(

Counter-point Audi downsized to a 4.0T and that is a very nice motor.

Probably will, but I want a used N/A V8 ATS-V in about 10 years.

Fuck that looks good. Almost makes me want to get a C-Class.

The 4.0T is amazing. Anything that can shuffle the S8 to 60mph in under 4 seconds is godlike.

I wonder if it's going to be like Audi's 4.0T, with a <500 hp tune for the lesser cars, and a >500, possibly >600 hp tune for the $100,000+ AMGs.
Also, Audi really needs an RS4 with their 4.0T. What are they doing?

And come 2025, the C63 will be powered by a 2.0T hybrid, but will still be called the C63, making the name a bigger lie than it already is.

It may not be the big N/A V8 but this car is still very exciting to me. It will probably have more displacement than anything in its class. And the smaller engine should help with weight distribution.
I've always been an M3 fan but the next C63 AMG (or whatever it ends up being called) is more exciting to me. It could have similar driving dynamics but MOAR POWER.
